Promoting Strong Bones
As a Fitness Professional, I play a huge role in promoting strong bones to my clients. If you have strong bones, you have a strong body. Having a healthy diet and exercising in the right ways will help decrease the risk of Osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones become weak and brittle. This occurs more in females rather than males. There has been ten million females diagnosed so far, and osteoporosis effects Caucasians and Asian’s most. This condition cannot be cured but treatment is necessary and could help. I want what is best for my clients health. If I happen to get a client who has the condition, Osteoporosis, I would still have to check with their doctor and make sure they are cleared and okay to do certain exercises. For some older people with this condition, when doing some exercises, you might want to stay close to a wall, and make sure you have a room that has lots of space. Most osteoporosis-related fractures occur in the hip, spine, and wrists. The two most serious are the hip and spine. As a fitness professional, I would recommend to my clients that they need 1,000 mg of calcium per day if they are between the ages of 18 and 50. They need good sources of Vitamin D such as Milk, certain fish, breakfast cereals and orange juice. It is also better for some people to sit rather than stand because my clients’ bones could be weak and you need to work up to it. This is the role I have as a fitness professional.
